After 25 years of experience practicing law in the Kansas City area, Ted Beckett sums up his firm's mission succinctly: "The point of our practice is to help people. It's that simple."
Mr. Beckett is a trial attorney respected for his ability to resolve complex legal issues for corporate and construction clients, and for his skill in assisting victims and their families. He received his bachelor's degree in 1975 from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he played football for four years for the Tigers. In 1978, he received his law degree from the School of Law at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
He was admitted to the bar in 1978 for Missouri and the US District Court, Western District of Missouri. After 16 years practicing law in his hometown of Kansas City, Mr. Beckett in 1994 formed his own firm, Beckett & Hensley, L.C. The firm provides expertise to clients in the areas of construction law and corporate litigation, and serves victims of personal injury and nursing home abuse.
Mr. Beckett is an experienced litigation attorney. He is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan and American Bar Associations, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the ATLA Litigation Committee on Nursing Homes, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, the Construction Advisory Council of the American Arbitration Association.
He is an
involved father and community member. His service to the community includes
founding board member of the Kansas Special Olympics, three years as a school
board member for Visitation School, past president of the Carriage
Club,
serves as a coach in the Kansas City, Missouri 3&2 Baseball League, coach
for the Visitation football program, and for eight years was coach of the
Carriage Club youth hockey teams.
